Sheep Blood Agar Plate (Soybean Casein Digest Base) – Ready-to-Use

Ready-to-use blood agar plate containing 5% defibrinated sheep blood in a Soybean Casein Digest Agar base. Ideal for the cultivation and differentiation of fastidious bacteria and detection of hemolysis.

product Description

The Sheep Blood Agar Plate is a highly nutritious medium used for the isolation, cultivation, and differentiation of fastidious pathogenic organisms, especially from clinical samples. It is composed of Soybean Casein Digest Agar enriched with 5% sterile defibrinated sheep blood, allowing for clear visualization of alpha, beta, and gamma hemolysis.

It is a gold standard in clinical microbiology for testing respiratory pathogens (e.g. Streptococcus spp.), wound infections, and general bacterial isolation. These plates are pre-poured, gamma-irradiated, and sealed to maintain sterility and consistency.
